Getting started

What is Moment?

Moment is a shared photo and message guestbook for an event. The host creates the event and shares a QR code or link. Guests contribute from their phones, and those memories appear together on the event wall.

Getting started

Do guests need an app or an account?

No. Guests open the link or scan the QR code with their phone camera, then share from their browser. Only hosts need an account to create and manage events.

Getting started

What kinds of events can I use it for?

Weddings, birthdays, graduations, family reunions, and smaller gatherings. Give the event a name your guests will recognise. A date is optional.

Sharing memories

Can I share a photo I took earlier?

Yes. Choose ‘From gallery’ on the sharing page to select an existing photo, or ‘Take a photo’ to open your camera. You can include a note as well.

Sharing memories

Can I leave just a message?

Yes. A photo, a non-blank message, or both will work. Messages can be up to 300 characters. Your name is optional; if you leave it blank, your contribution appears as Anonymous.

Sharing memories

Why does my photo get smaller before it uploads?

Moment compresses photos in your browser to reduce mobile data use and help them upload more quickly. Photos are resized to at most 1920 pixels on their longest edge. The version on the guestbook is the uploaded version, not the original camera file.

Sharing memories

Can guests contribute from somewhere else?

Yes. Send them the event link. Anyone with that link and an internet connection can open the guestbook and share a memory, even if they aren’t at the venue.

Sharing memories

My upload failed. What should I do?

Check your connection and try again. The form keeps your photo and note after a failed attempt. If a photo is still too large, choose a smaller one. If the event has reached its sharing limit, let the host know.

The live wall

How do I put the wall on a projector?

Open your event dashboard and choose ‘Open the live wall’. Display that tab on your projector or second screen. The projector link can be opened on a venue laptop without signing in to your host account.

The live wall

Does Moment work without internet?

An internet connection is needed to open the guestbook, send memories, and receive new posts on the wall. If updates stop after a connection drops, reconnect and refresh the page.

The live wall

How many memories does the wall show?

When a wall opens, it loads the latest 100 published posts and then receives new memories as they arrive. A paginated view of the full history is not available yet.

Privacy & access

Who can see the event’s photos and messages?

Anyone with the event link or QR code can view and contribute to the guestbook. Event pages are kept out of search indexing, but the link itself grants access. Share it only with the people you want to invite.

Privacy & access

Can I approve or remove a guest’s post?

Posts appear without a host-approval step. Host tools for removing posts are not available yet. Let your guests know the wall is shared, and ask them to post photos and notes that are appropriate for everyone at the event.

Downloads & pricing

What can I use for free?

You can create an event, download its QR code, collect guest photos and messages, and display the live wall. There is no payment step for guests.

Downloads & pricing

Can I pay to download all the memories?

A Ksh 400 per-event download option is planned, but M-Pesa checkout is currently unavailable. Already unlocked events can use their download button. You can keep collecting and viewing memories on your wall.
